Audition and Download
Lower quality preview files are available for auditioning in either Real Media or MP3 Audio format (older packages used Real Media previews, while we have shifted to using MP3 audio for newer packages). RealPlayer is required to audition the Real Media sounds, and is usually installed in your browser. If not, you can get it FREE from Real
Audio. A media player capable of playing MP3 Audio files is required for the MP3 Audio previews. Newer versions of Windows Media Player, and other stand alone players such as WinAmp will play MP3 Audio files. The sound quality of the preview files are vastly inferior to the actual audio files contained in the downloadable packages (which are usually stereo 44.1Khz/16bit CD quality wave files or very high bit rate MP3 files), but the preview files are good enough to select the type of music you may be looking for (PLEASE NOTE: You must have a 56K modem or better to audition any of the sound files found on this site).
Upon completion of a successful transaction, a special temporary
directory on our site is created that contains your files for
downloading. The links to your purchased files will
be shown at the bottom of the receipt web page after your order is
completed. If you provided a correct e-mail address, you will be
e-mailed a copy of your receipt which will also contain the links to
your files. You have 24 hours to download your files. If for
any reason you are unable to successfully download all of your files
within that amount of time, please send an e-mail to webmaster@netmusiclibrary.com
describing the problem and include a copy of your e-mail receipt.
Searching for and Auditioning Sound Files
To license music or sound effects from the complete Net Music Library database - click on
"Store" on the menu bar at the top of any page.
On the store page, use the form on the right hand side of the page to
select a category to browse, or type in a search phrase in the search
box and click on the "show me the products" button.
This takes you into the online database and shows you either the list of
products from the category you selected, or shows the results of your
search. You will see a condensed table of results showing the product
name and price along with an audio preview link. To view more
details about any particular product, simply click on the product name
which will take you to the product details page.
Click the "Add to Cart" button
to add the product to your shopping cart (you can always remove it
later). From the cart page, click on the "Product Page" button
to go back to your initial product summary page, or the "Home
Page" button to return to the store home page to start another
search. You can also delete items from your cart by checking the
box in the "delete" column next to the product you wish to
delete and then clicking the "Delete Items" button.
Once you have finished adding items to your shopping cart, you can
complete your purchase by clicking on the "Checkout" button
from the cart page.
The next page you will see will ask you for the desired shipping method
and your state and country for shipping and sales tax calculations.
Shipping charges will only be applied if you have ordered any
non-downloadable products. Sales tax currently is only applied to
residents of Washington Stage. If you are in the United States, you must
enter your two letter state abbreviation in the box to continue.
If you are located outside of the U.S., you may leave the state field
blank. Once you have filled out the information, click on the
"Continue to Order Form" button.
Please make sure the "Order Form" page reflects exactly what you added to your shopping cart (if not, return to the "Shopping Cart" page and correct the order). Fill in your correct billing address and shipping address (if different from your billing address and you ordered any non-downloadable products). Fill out the required credit card information to complete your SECURE transaction (PLEASE NOTE: Net Music Library uses a Comodo secure server certificate - which protects credit card and other personal information with encryption before it is transmitted over the internet - and unlike some other online businesses, we will never sell any personal information you provide us with - your privacy is guaranteed when you shop at Net Music Library).
After entering your credit card details, select the "Go To PayPal" button to complete your order. We use PayPal as our payment processor, with payments made to our parent company, MusicTECH. Your Security is PayPal's Top Priority. With the industry's most-advanced encryption, fraud prevention, and Buyer and Seller Protection Policies, PayPal is dedicated to keeping your account safe and secure. Your credit card information is NEVER seen by anyone at MusicTECH or Net Music Library..
When your order has been successfully processed at PayPal, you will be automatically returned to this site and the receipt page will appear, which you can print this for your records. Scroll down to the bottom of the page for the links to your downloadable files. A copy of this receipt will also be e-mailed to you which will contain the downloadable file links as well (make sure you set your e-mail to receive and display HTML formatted messages if you want to see the download links in your e-mail).
To download the sound files you have licensed, click on the link for
each product you ordered. On most systems, you will then be asked
whether you want to open the file from it's current location, or save
the file to disk. You should choose to save the file to disk and
keep track of the directory to which the file is saved. On Windows
based computers, you may also right click on the link and choose
"Save Target As..." to avoid the dialog box and immediately
specify the directory to save the file to.
All of the downloadable
products on Net Music Library are delivered as Zip
archive files which contain all the files in the package you ordered as
well as a copy of our license agreement. To open these Zip files,
you need to have a program that can UnZip the files. These
programs are FREE and can be downloaded via one of the links below:
Download
WinZip for Windows
Download
PKZip for Windows
Download
MacZip for Macintosh
Once unzipped, the files themselves are full resoultion,
uncompressed, .WAV files, usually at full stereo CD quality (16 bit,
44.1Khz) unless otherwise specified on the product details
page.
